Hey all... needed some recommendations on scope/scope attachment for my AR-15 with a fixed carry handle. I have a pretty cheap-o 6x scope that i've put on my .22 bolt action and it is pretty accurate.
i've tried attaching it to the AR and have had some problems getting it to stay attached. here's what i've tried so far:

1) scope has adapter to be attached by 1 screw to the hole in carry handle

2) attached a picatinny multi rail (attaches to same 1 screw on top of handle... has the look through rail on top of handle and zig zags to another rail that runs along top of the upper)

In each instance, the weak point seems to be solo screw that attaches to the top of the carry handle. either the scope becomes loose or the accessory rail comes loose.

I'm looking for a fun plinking gun that can be used up to 100-150 yds.

Thanks!

If the thing that fits into the carry handle groove is not a perfect fit, then wobble happens. Glass bedding will help. I'd make sure the glass adheres to the rail or scope, not the carry handle. Either way will work, but I'd rather keep the carry handle unchanged.

Regards.

Get the ARMS Mount #02 or #39. They are among the best, if not THE best.

Get some rock solid scope rings, i.e. Badger Ordinance.

Buy a "Delta" style cheekpiece, i.e. from Bushmaster, to raise your stock cheekweld.

Good luck!
