AR or M1A Socom?

I have to echo the vote for the Scout/Squad/Bush M1A over the break open-to-load AR.

The SOCOM is o.k. looking. . . . it's just that the gas system is different (IF I remember correctly) and the SOCOM just looks a little strange, IMO with all of those rails attached to it.

Good luck making your decision.

the bottom one comes off easily, leaving you just with the top rail. it dosen't look so bad then.

M1A, in scout squad config.

I've heard that the SOCOM I has a twitchy, nonstandard gas system, and the SOCOM II has an extra 2.5 pounds of pointless rails and technocrap on it. If you want to lug that much rifle around, get a "loaded standard" instead, IMO.

+1.

I'm more partial to a national match M-1A with a nice mcbros fiberglass stock and a side-mounted scope. forgive me, but i think all that rail junk makes the socoms look kinda cheesy.
