I saw a rifle at a gun shop the other day,I forgot to write down the name [ and that is my memory story ].

It sold for 700+,in new York state [ and its totally complaint ].

It looked a great deal like the sporting stocked Saiga rifle,BUT it had a AR-15 action and used AR / M-16 mags.

I would REALLY hope its made in 7.62 X 51 soon, but does anyone know the maker ?.

It is made in the USE,as I am pretty sure it could not be imported to this country under 'current' laws .

@ HOOfan 1

"Ares Defense SCR?"

You nailed it.

I handled one and was impressed as to weight and balance.

Now IF they would make one in 7.62 X 51 ---- I would HAVE to have one.

Might grab one of these as I have a 'few' rounds that were going to be shot in M-4's but after all ----- this is NYS.

Thank you sir !.

I hope they did a lot of work on that buffer setup. That whole thing was designed to travel in a straight line back into the buffer tube. There are going to be some non-linear forces going on there...in a design that was pretty much all about linear forces. It is still interesting.

As a guy in CT it's very interesting to me.
Part of our CT AWB bans certain "assault weapons" by name, rather than merely description. I wonder how long it will be before our illustrious leaders decide to add "Ares SCR" to the list of guns that don't match their definition of "assault weapon" but are still sooper dooper scary.

I'd certainly be interested in giving this rifle a try though. Haven't seen one locally.

Does that take standard uppers (some standard given the variability in AR10/SR25s)?
Does they make a 5.56 version?

Mike

AR uppers ?

I was wondering that too,does this take AR / M-4 uppers ?.

But I am really hoping to see this is .308 / 7.62 X 51.

I have an Saiga in 7.62 X 39 [ same configuration ] and its a fun carbine / rifle to shoot.

I would REALLY hope that if they make it in .308 --- it uses M1A mag's !!!!
