So needing some suggestions on AR triggers.
Have a couple of builds that are held up due to no triggers. My typical go to trigger is a Larue MBT, but those are on a couple month backorder.
After owning a MBT, swallowing the Geissele pill is pretty hard, and yes I own some.

Looking at something in the 150ish range.
I've been looking at
Velocity triggers
Timmney impact
CMC
Elftmann se

Thoughts...suggestions...Thanks.

right! I wish I would have taken advantage of that 1-2-3 deal LaRue had a while back.
I'd go with the Timney Impact but I have no personal experience with that one. PSA has a supposed "Geissele like" $99 trigger.

I bought a Rise Armament 3.5 lb trigger group for 97 bucks, on sale, at Midway.

I liked it so much I bought three more.

Install of the complete trigger unit took me less than ten minutes each, and the trigger pull is a lot better than stock. I used the stock pins, but they come with anti-walk pins if you like those.

Just a suggestion, but if you’re on a budget, these are a very good option.

Stay safe.

The Geissele G2S runs $165, probably a little cheaper if you look around for a deal/sale. So, not too far off from your price range.

For a single stage trigger on a budget, HiperFire gets good reviews.

I'm interested in what folks recommend as well, since this will likely be the part that holds up my first AR build. I have a LaRue MBT-2S on backorder. My only experience with AR triggers is the stock trigger on my BG Defense Type-A, which apparently has a proprietary 2-stage trigger. FWIW I really like that trigger and I'm hoping the LaRue 2-stage is similar.

I recently put in a Dirty Bird 2 stage trigger in for $75. It is much better than the stock trigger. It is pretty crisp, no creep at all, but not quit as light as I'd like, supposed to be 4.5lb which is probably right. No, it is not better than my Jewel trigger that has all kinds of adjustments and I have it just right for me, which I think is out of business now. But, it is a good trigger for the money.

I've had bad luck with PSA "enhanced" triggers.

My go-to drop in trigger is POF single stage. I think they have a 2 stage now. I like the rubber feet on the bottom of the trigger cassette.

I really like Ruger's 2 stage, normally $100-140ish

For around a $100, WMD and RRA offer 2 stage triggers as well.

But that's just me. I have never owned a Timney, Elf, nor Giesselle. Always tempted, though

Once I started using two stage triggers, that is what I prefer.

Generally, I buy Geissele triggers designed for service rifle competition, but they have a variety of trigger release rates available that will suit anyone's needs.

If you’re just looking for an economy trigger the RRA 2-Stage would be my suggestion. I own 3, 2 Varmint and 1 Match at 3 1/2 and 4 lbs respectively. IMO stretching your budget to $150 territory gains you little by comparison and wishing you’d simply sprung for a Geissele. Whether the RRA works for your build is conditional on the rifle’s purpose.

https://www.righttobear.com/rock-river-2-stage-trigger-p/ar0093nmk.htm $95 and I’ve ordered repeatedly from these guys without issue.

It's difficult to venture out of a self - imposed Geissele "comfort zone" once one has started...

I'm also curious about other less expensive options that are just as good.

I'm a fan of the LaRue and intended to purchase another. A phone call just informed me they are three months behind on orders. I'll try again this fall..

I prefer two stage triggers in my ARs, I have a Rock River, Geissele G2S, Larue MBT, and several DPMS two stages. The Geissele is my favorite with (surprisingly) the DPMS a close second. Nothing wrong with the MBT except the shape of the trigger bow is not all that comfortable compared to others. For a Mil-spec style single stage I really like the ALG ACT but only one of my guns has a single stage.

My preference is for a single stage, so my selections may not be the popular ones. I’d pick a JP, then a Timney, then the ALG ACT. I know the JP is probably the most expensive, not a drop in, and not on the OP’s list. The Timney is a drop in. The ALG ACT is the least expensive and almost as good as the Timney, but isn’t drop in.

I really like the LaRue MBT series. I believe their straight bow two stage triggers are in stock. I ordered a straight bow and a curved (both two stages) about a month ago. The straight arrived about a week later, but LaRue placed the curved on back order. I contacted LaRue after I installed the straight bow and liked it and they edited my order, replacing the curved with another straight bow and immediately shipped it to me. Just something to consider.
