I am looking for drills, etc. that I can use in practice with my AR15. Before anyone directs me to AR15.com, I have already looked over the site, especially the Training section and have only found limited information. However, I have found some drills and techniques mentioned, but not how to actually execute them. So, if anyone can provide links or explainations regarding any of the following drills/techniques, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

-El Diablo Drill
-Harv's Drill
-Midsouth Meltdown
-Devil's Drill
-Israeli Two Step
-FAST After Action Drill
-The Graucho Technique
-The SAS Movement Drill
-The Exercise Walk
-The Zipper Technique
-Military Prone
-British Prone
-Urban Prone
-Traditional Prone
-Straight On Prone
-Rice Paddy Prone
-Traditional Kneeling
-High/Low Kneeling
-Hight/Low Sitting
-Reverse Kneeling
-Double Kneeling
-Bladed Stance
-Suitcase Carry
-Tactical Carry
-Patrol Carry
-High/Low Muzzle Frontal Carry
-Backup Weapon Transitions
-High/Low Ready
-Controlled Fire
-Slow/Medium/Fast Forward Movement
-Rearward Movement
-Lateral Movement
-360 Degree Engagements

Search for this book on Amazon.com: The Book of Two Guns by Tiger McKee.

Although this book focuses on use of the 1911 and AR the concepts are generally applicable.

Hope this helps.

welcome to thr.

i suggest a training course or 2 ! i went that route and continue to do so a couple different courses every year, some handgun some carbine etc. i could tell you how to do all of em but that would take a long time, and plus i would much rather just show you that would be alot more binicfical for all of us, and more fun too!

i suggest you look at for good instruction.
www.tacticalresponse.com (yeager and crew)
eag tactical (pat rodgers)
blackwater usa
shootrite (tiger mckee)etc.

or if you are near georgia we might could link up, it would suit me just fine to get a Devil Dog up to speed!

I agree w/ this guy. Reinforcing improper techniques w/ repetition is not helpful. Practice does not make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect.

Best to get some hand-on training with feedback from a qualified instructor.

It's tough learning all this stuff from a book or even a video. Easy to pick up bad habits that can get you killed.

I highly recommend Larry Vickers carbine classes as a starting point - if you are so inclined.

Also, do check out the training forum at:

for other great training options.

marineman,

You can find all that info on Al Gore's Internet by using your favorite search engine. You said that you've been to AR15.com, but did you see the link to other websites that describe those drills in detail? One of those sites even has the drills in a nice format that you can print out. That's what I did.

The first nine you listed are drills, the others are positions and techniques. Most of those drills assume that you already have mastered the fundamental techniques.

Again, use your favorite search engine. All of the info is out there. But, as others have said, proper training is required. You really need someone who knows the proper techniques to critique your form.

Please post a link to the website that you are talking about if possible. Thanks.
