Are CZ's really that amazing

Buy a CZ while they still are a relatively unknown quantity here in the States. They are still a bargain but word is starting to spread and prices are starting to rise. The biggest gun store here in Central Florida still doesn't even stock them. IMHO, the SP-01 (with an inexpensive trigger job) is the best-bang-for-the-buck 9mm on the market!

yup.

if you already have 9mm CZ pistols, go to whitaker guns in KY i think... they have RSR special $369 for a plain CZ75b with no magazines. i'm tempted to pick it up... if only they had a 75 compact in 40 for the same deal! i don't need more stinkin' mags anyways! lol!

I got a P-01 as my first gun. I had narrowed it down to a few models, but fell in love with the CZ as soon as I picked it up and bought it right then. It's a great gun, haven't had any problems except a few FTFs in the first couple hundred rounds, which was possibly the fault of cheap ammo. It does need a trigger job, but I love it anyways.

I think I will pass on delivering your message schmeky. He is an ex-Marine and a 10 year veteran vice cop. Besides having tremendous respect for his contribution to my safety and our country, I kind of like the guy. He may be wrong about CZs, but if my time spent with him is any indication, he is far from an idiot.

Unfortunately, I think that is too late. I remember when you could get any CZ for under $400...many closer to $300. The exchange rate and their increasing popularity has put an end to that. While they are still a good gun and a decent value, they aren't the same incredible value they used to be. I'm leaning toward a EAA Witness now.

coyotehm... Don't know how you bought your P-01 (NIB, used, etc.), but I would IMMEDIATELY call CZ-CS (MikeE or MattH) tell them your problem, get a RA# and ship that baby back to them for warranty-work ASAP!!!

It was bought new and has had about 100 rounds through it at this point. I was going to try a couple of remedies, but sending it back might not be a bad idea as I could get the trigger worked over while it was there. I'll post how things go.

Yeah, CZ's are no longer the best kept secret out there. They are still great pistols and it is satisfying to see them actually being priced closer in line to their quality. However, the $300 CZ-75 is but a dream.

They are now priced what they are worth. But while others are discontinuing metal framed guns, CZ still makes theirs....for now at least. I'm getting worried about the new amount of poly CZ's out there.
