Are DS Arms' MSRPs solid or negotiable?

Hi all,
Looking into an FAL. The STG58 is affordable ($1000), but has some qualities I don't like (Belgian style muzzle break, grey phosphate finish, I'd rather synthetic furniture, no need for a tripod). The SA58 is really what I want, but costs $400 more! I would rather not spend the $1000 on something that is not exactly what I want... but an extra $400! Sure, I know FAL parts kits builds are cheaper, but I'd rather have the quality control and good customer support of DS Arms.

Do dealers get any breaks when buying these if I order one through my FFL? Is there any way to get a better price without insulting or offending my local firearms dealer? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Pete,

Last year I ordered a SA58 through our skeet club on post, if memory serves me, the cost was $1075, with shipping and the $20 fee the club charges it was about $1120. It came out to about $150 or so under their MSRP.

If you find a dealer that will just handle the transfer, you can save some money. I had the Skeet Club manager send DSA a letter saying that they could deal directly with me. The whole transaction was fairly simple.

I've got close to 1K through the rifle now without a hiccup.

Chuck
