Are the AIM Bushmasters a good deal/priced well?

After several years of denial, I've finally admitted to myself that I'd like to add an AR to the inventory. I'd like to stick to a name brand, ready to cook from the factory rifle. I've been eyeballing the Bushmasters available from AIM with some interest, but I'd like advice from seasoned AR buyers and shooters - are these a good value or are there better options out there for a first timer like me to consider?

Bushmaster is a great option, and the ones at AIM are generally priced well.

Stick to any of the major name brands, and you will get a quality weapon that will serve you well.

The thing that bothers me about the AIM Bushmasters is that it says to allow 8 - 16 weeks for delivery. My local store has these in stock all the time. I don't see the reasoning for waiting.

Sounds like they order them direct from Bushmaster when you order, and Bushy has some pretty long lead times currently.

Yea, I noticed the 8-16 week thing too.....not exactly an appealing prospect, especially if ya gots ta pay up fron

I "should" be getting my RRA NM upper tomorrow . . .it's been an almost 3 month wait for it. It seems to be a pretty much across the board for BM and RRA anyway. (haven't tried to order any Colt or Armalite parts)

Have a good one,
Dave

I bought one from AIM before the ban ended and my FFL got it in a week. Guess they must be really busy now.

They are generally priced well. Not the absolute cheapest way to get an AR, but it's certainly a better deal than you can get in most gun stores it seems.

All of the major players are buried right now. RRA has nearly an 8mos wait on stripped lowers, LMT is 6mos for uppers...been crazy as of late! Discouraging because quantity ordered doesn't seem to impact delivery either...1 upper or 20, you are going to wait :(

I've been patiently waiting for my AIM Bushy M4 since I placed the order back in February. I was told when I placed my order that it probably wouldn't ship until late May. So I knew I was in for a bit of a wait. AIM won't charge your cc until the order is ready to ship. For $829 shipped, it's a great deal, but the wait sucks. I'm not in a rush to get it, if I was, I'd go to my local dealer and try to negotiate a price I could live with. Dealers here in NoVA carry the same Bushy M4 for about $1000.

Gary,
I tried the link, but it wouldn't work. I get the dreaded "The page cannot be displayed" message.

The Bushy M4A3s are available around here, but not at the price offered by AIM. Call me cheap or frugal but AIM's price is very appealing.
