Are the gunshow sellers crazy in your area too?

I have watched this for a while, attending shows in this area (south central Kansas) I have found some sellers with prices that seemed awfully high- like a blue-worn Ruger Security Six with aftermarket grips for in excess of $600 because "they don't make this gun anymore", and so forth.

I think it continues to be a case of what the market will bear; if people will pay the prices at least some sellers will sell. I think they are taking advantage, but that is my opinion- others may disagree

gun shows are no fun up this way either - I used to be able to go in and make a few trades or pick things up at decent prices - now its really rare - and its funny - i quit going for about 4 years...when i went to my first one again a few months ago I saw some of the same guns on the same tables that were there 4 years ago - funny - they just went up in price - im convinced that the best place for buying/selling is probably here on the forums

I went to a gunshow just the other day and ended up buying from my local dealer because he was the only one to haggle and the only one to have a fair price in the first place.

Last gunshow I was at, the ones that stuck out in my mind:

Phoenix HP22A - $245.00!!!?? (bought mine for 145.00 a couple years ago, and felt that was on the high side.)
Radom P-64 - $220.00 (No wiggle room, even. The guy was serious. I bought one a month later, from J&G, for $159.00)
FEG PA-63 - $240.00 (got mine for $150.00, 2 years ago.)

I have the same luck in pawn shops. I've never seen a deal in a pawn shop in my life. I think the people that buy this stuff must have never heard of the internet, before.

They may, eventually, get some dope to overpay, yes. They were a small investment for the seller and they do seem to mark them up many times. And given the pain it can be in some areas to get a real gun a guy w/money burning a hole in his pocket might just buy a comparatively cheap BP gun to get "something." And they are the most gracefull...

Around here almost all the tables at the gunshows are ran by bigtime FFL dealers. Laugh when i see things that i know dang well they bought surplus ammo from J & G or someone then they put a literally 100 percent markup on it..... I just buy guns now from friends, and gunbroker dont even go to the shows anymore.
