I have a Remington 870 HD that I want to add some type of sighting system to. Right now it has only the stock front bead. I can't find ghost rings for under $100! Last night at Wal-Mart, I found a set of sights made by Hi-Viz for turkey and deer hunting. Check them out here:

The problem is that they only fit to guns with VR barrels. The 870 HD has no VR! I realize they are for hunting, but I thought they would be better than the front bead, and also be nice at the range when I practice with slugs. My only thought is that I could have the base cut to fit the back of the receiver, and drill/tap the receiver to attach the rear sight. The front sight is still a problem, though, as it attaches to a flat surface (the VR), not the round barrel.
Are there any inexpensive options for my dilemma?
