It seems I know a lot of people who have had problems with ProMag over the years but I haven't heard much about Triple K. They make some after market mags for some guns that are hard to find mags for. Does anybody have much experience with this company's magazines?

Buy Triple-K ONLY if you can find nothing else for that gun.

I have never seen a good one yet.

I bought two for a Model 39 S&W a few years ago, and factory 9mm ball ammo would not even fit down inside them!

Bought two before the ban ended for cz85b - neither one lasted five minutes before I packed them up for return (didn't work well at all inserting and removing from gun, and one held 14 instead of 15 rounds). Mecgars are nice.

I have bought one, for a Mini-14, and it is crap.

Actually, it's a solid, well-made magazine with a quality finish. It just doesn't feed more than a couple rounds at a time without jamming.

I hate to say that about a San Diego company, but they really do need to make their magazines to spec, or they're not going to sell any. Maybe after they do, they can mark the packages, "NEW! Now built to work in your gun!"

I like their leather goods, though.:)

Exactly the experiences I had with some of their 9mm mags. Out of four or five I had of theirs I think only one worked every time.

Not a good track record.

You don't stay in business for decades, making a profit, by selling mostly junk.
When you enter the aftermarket, all have some degree of difficulty especially in mags...

Triple K is one of the few places to go if you want a magazine for an old, obsolete, oddball or obscure handgun. I will give them that. http://www.triplek.com/Pages/Magazines/ But if you want one for a modern firearm that you need to stake your life on, I would not recommend them. Some 10-round (all you could get in CA, then or now) magazines I bought for a Ruger Mini-14 would not even feed the first round off the top. They hung down too low in the rear, and the rifle's bolt would override the top of the cartridge and actually bend it in half.

Triple-K is in my experience much worse than ProMag, but much better than National.

Triple-K does make a lot of mags for discontinued guns, but don't expect them to work without futzing with them. Got one for my Star BS, managed to get it to feed, but I'd never want to use it anywhere besides the range!

Mec-Gar is your first choice in non-factory magazines, and in very many cases are the OEM for the factory mags.

I bought 3, 8 rounders for a 1911, several years ago. The springs seem weak(loads really easy), but they have worked quite well for many thousands of rounds. Lips are still correct, and the blue steel body is has never deformed or tarnished.

For the $8 each, I paid, they have turned out to be a nice value.

I bought one fore my Cz52 this past year. The follower/spring would jam half way up preventing it from feeding any more rounds. The Cz mags I have seem to work flawlessly. I'm going to try a Wolff spring and see if that solves the problem.

I need to find a magazine for a .38 spl 1911 and $50 for Triple-K's seem to be gouging considering their lack of quality, but I don't have much of a choice in the matter.

I've bought two .38 Special mags from Triple K for my Clark conversion. Both had problems and I called Triple K with my concerns. They replaced both mags and the replacements have worked flawlessly. Their current production in this particular mag has improved immensely. The first two mags appear to have been an older run that had problems. Considering guys are gouging on genuine Colt mags ($100+), I'll try Triple K first anytime.

By the way, if anyone wants it, I'll be glad to sell you a genuine Colt .38 Special mag for $100. :)

Also, High Standard has the original Colt machining and is making replacement mags as well. Their's run $69.

I purchased 5 for my Walther P5, and have had no problems with them. I've also purchased for my FN1910, and Colt 1903 pocket that have all worked. Maybe I just got lucky.
