I bought my first AR- a Bushmaster Predator a few months before the election. It was looking like the Democrats would sweep congress and the senate and I wanted to get the rifle, some magazines and a good supply of ammunition before the buying panic started. Leftist Internationalist Utopians are very effective gun salespersons. My notion was that the predator would make a good general purpose utility rifle. The butt trap is loaded with spare parts and a cleaning kit. It has a Nikon Monarch 4-12 scope.
I have also found out that it is fun to shoot and the round count builds up pretty fast. A little over a week ago, I ordered a competition Match A2 upper wanting something with a chrome lined barrel and rugged sights. they acknowleged the order, sent the sight mounted sling stud but not the upper. Apparently, they are selling them fast enough that they can't keep them in stock.
BATF production figures are a couple of years old. I would like to know something about the current buying patterns. Bushmaster would not respond to telephone or e-mail but I suspect that the companies that make ARs are seeing an upswing in business. Ammunition and components are harder to find now.
