Yes, I bought three handguns and bought 2000 rounds of ammo. I think Obama will try for a for an AWB law and more restrictions on handgun purchases. However, I don't think the feds will go after the concealed carry laws which have been widely popular, although Obama would love to ban concealed carry if he could.

It is unfathonable to me to even begin to think that at this date, 38 members on here don't feel Obama poses any threat to their gun rights.

Do these people have their heads buried in the sand? I expect that statement from people who don't have any interest in guns, but not from the membership here. Not from people who have even half a brain. Not from a gun owner who wants to remain a gun owner.

I agree with you 100%. Perhaps all these folks are in a state of denial or something. However, anyone who actually believes that obama is not a threat to the 2A is sadly mistaken.

Classic overreaction on the part of those who believe in the scare tactics of the past 8 years. Keep everyone as scarred as possible so "anything goes".

There will always be guns available to any law abiding citizen of these United States. You may not have 100% availability of every single variation possible but there will always be more than enough for everyone who qualifies.

President elect Obama has more on his plate to take care of thanks to non-appropriate action taken by Congress and the present administration than to worry about changing the number of gun laws already on the books.

Buy what you can afford and keep shooting whenever possible. But stop the scare tactics; we need to join together to make our country better not more divided.

We have the Constitution behind us - no matter what any administration may wish to do.

Have you noticed lately that we have a "living Constitution" that allows judges to interpret it as it fits their liberal agenda and then legislate from the bench? The administration can do anything it so chooses....read the morning paper or watch some news....

More than enough? So what percentage are we/you happy with? 80% availability? 60%? How about 40%?

Every president has had more on his plate to think about besides gun laws but they happen anyway and it is a top priority personally for this president and his staff.

+1 Yes, I stock up when Clinton, Bush, O man, or Nero, takes office. I just keep stockin up. Wife says were good....I say, just one mow.:)

Foresight. I had my purchases made months and years back, anticipating a "change" due to the negative climate. To that end, I too was not able to vote.

So....why are you people stocking up?
Who are you going to shoot your 3500 rounds at?:scrutiny:

Just got another small box of .40 caliber Federal Hollows for my M&P .40... Shotgun slugs I doubt are going to be an issue, so I'm not worried there, plus we have a ton of 00 buck at the house we have had for years. My dad and I went gun shopping yesterday, and he found a Rock Island 1911 that he fell in love with, so he's heading out to get his purchase permit soon. I need to get another one too, for my 7mm bolt. I guess since an AR is out of the question now with the gun buying blitz... I'll start looking for an 870 or Moss 500 again.

I too wish there was anothe option I voted No I don't think it a big threat which not completely true there is of course a threat there but not so big to make me go spend money on more weapons. I have been stocking up on ammo but more at an edge to the raising costs then anything eles. We need to watch what happen give the man a chance if we don't like what is being done need to look for candidates that support our right in the upcoming mid term elections and make sure there are not the votes in congress that he would need to harm us too bad. Plus he going to be pretty busy with other more pressing issues when he take office.

Be Safe

I am sorry my poll was missing one or two options. Since you cant edit the options once its launched, and a good amount of people voted already, i didnt want to restart a new one and make everyone vote again.

All i can suggest is to pick the option that most closely resembles how you feel, atleast then, the poll will be more complete albeit very slightly off.

So....why are you people stocking up?
Who are you going to shoot your 3500 rounds at?
Why do we need to have 3500 people that we want to shoot? I have well over 3500 rounds, and I have never shot at a person and I hope to never have to do so.

Some of us like to buy in bulk because it's cheaper, and because future availability might be limited. It's really no more complex or sinister than that.

Mike

As EASYG stated so well, one gun correctly used will yield many more if need be.
After a certain point stocking up becomes ridiculous. Now, if you admit you are just buying more guns because you like them, that's your decision and it's great.
One good long gun, one good carry/home defense and 100 rounds should enable you for any situation. If you used a weapon defending your property from a group/crowd/whatever, should you survive, just take the weapon that was to be used against you and it's yours.
Last night here in West Palm Beach 3 animals (badguys) went into D&D with shotgun and two pistols. Shot 3 elderly customers in face with shotgun. To be honest I would have been glad I had my 340PD on me but definitely would have felt undergunned. My Glock while not a shotgun, would have given me more distance and higher round count til the cavalry arrived. Sorry for the extra rant, just angry about that incident.
As of now I believe all 3 victims are still in intensive care, one literally had his face shot off, and most of his wife's also. The 3 animals got away and went onto rob two more stores that night, no shots though.
Be safe to all, and be aware of your surroundings.

Yes I Am

Been doing my part lately. With a known anti-gun duo getting ready to assume office, my fear is that they will first implement a ridiculous tax on firearms and ammunition.

When the economy ebbs or settles and other world issues do too, I believe it will be a frontal assault on the 2A from these two leftists.

This thread has gotten extremely sophomoric. If you want a specific gun go get it - no matter who is elected (or as in the recent past selected) to the office of president.

I've been adding ammo in fits and squirts. Recently another 100 7.62x39 and 750 .22.

My Dad recently bought a Mossberg .270 and wants to sell it to get a 9mm. I have a practically new Astra A80 that I could trade him.

Should I? I have the 7.62x39 and a 7.62x54r but neither is scoped. The Mossy has a scope albeit a cheap one.

I have another 9 and a couple .45.

"My first priority will be to reinstate the assault weapons ban as soon as I take office. Within 90 days, we will go back after kitchen table dealers, and work to end the gun show and internet sales loopholes. In the first year, I intend to work with Congress on a national no carry law, 1 gun a month purchase limits, and bans on all semi-automatic guns."
--Barack Obama, VPC Fund Raiser, 2007

Does that sound scary or what?

MAYBE in a 2nd term there could be cause for concern, something drastic would ensure a loss in 2012,i doubt its a risk even then, ppl with egos want a legacy
