Heres the story.... My father-in-law asked me to look at "a jap rifle" that he had tucked away in his parents attic. He wanted me to find a few parts for the bolt at a gun show i was going to. Once i started looking at it i saw what looked like a scope mount on the left side of the reciever. I got out some of my books and found out it is a type 99 sniper. I am haveing a hard time finding parts and information on the rifle. it doen not have the scope, the fireing pin, fireing pin spring, safety knob/back of the bolt, cleaning rod, bayonet, and i need thee two screws for the front barrel band, and two more screws that go from the floor plate to the barrel/action that hold it in place.
1.where do i find the corect parts.?
2.how much should they cost.?
3.which style safety knob is correct to the rifle?
4. any idea what it is worth, both now and after it is complete.?
5. Also i cant find a serial #....only markings i have found is "99 type" and the arsenal marking for Nagoya Arsenal 1923-1945
any information is greatly appreciated.
