Can anyone recommend a good gunsmith in Arizona?
I have an Anschutz in need of repair. If I chamber a round and touch the safety, the rifle fires.
Granted, this adds a whole new level of excitement to my shooting but I do need to get it fixed.
I'd sure appreciate a referral.
Thanks!!!!!!

Sounds like you have a bad sear engagement. Firearms with this condition can have a tendency to "just go off." Are you in the Tuscon area? I found a host of gunsmith listings in that area. I suggest checking out their qualifications prior to having work done. Every gunsmith has their areas of expertise and areas of being less knowledgeable. The Anschutz firearms are fairly precise guns and require fitting to almost every new part installed. Good luck and be safe.

I do smithing.

I can also put you in touch with the retired owner of Prescion Products, he loves Anything Anschutz, and takes pride in getting things just right.

Of the smiths in Tucson

For something Anschutz, the now "retired orignator" of Prescion Products, the shop is still there, still doing driveshaft work. Is being highly recomended by a smith who would be comfortable working on one of these. I think --- who dealt in these and kept many of the ones being shot in competion here in SO AZ, in top shape will have more hands on knowledge, and may know what is wrong just hearing the problem. he still tinkers and can be found, you may have to weight a while, although when found he is fairly quick.

For our Shop and the bluing, --- was my dads first paying customer! Forty years and some more is a long time to do anything, He has a few years on me, but because my dad started me early, he says it was to protect his tools, and if I was tinkering in the shop the tools stayed home, so maybe not as many as it would be otherwise.
