I just read a news article that Mesa, Arizona Sheriff Paul Babeu has issued what the media is calling, a controversial message at a Mesa,Az. shooting range today. This message from Babeu comes 11 days after Maricopa County, Arizona - Sheriff Joe Arpaio issued a similar statement, in which he asked 250k citizens to arm up so they can help keep the peace.

Mesa, Az. Sheriff Paul Babeu issued a message today, in which he asks citizens to get training and start carrying. He cited reference to the Paris and Sanbernardino, Ca. terrorist attacks. He very adamantly states that "The answer is not to disarm American citizens", and that "This is our freedom to carry a weapon"
Sorry, I can seem to post the link, I'm still learning how to do this stuff. But anyway, the article can be view at Tucson News Now "Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu tells citzens to arm them selves"

Sheriff Joe Arpaio had even more to say on the topic, and was very out spoken on the matter, here's his link, I think?

A law-abiding citizen has the right to carry. But that citizen also has the responsibility to carry at all times, for the protection of family and fellow citizens. If it were publicized that five percent of the adult population is carrying, that information alone would reduce incidents of crimes like assault and armed robbery.

Paul Babeu is the Sheriff of Pinal Country. Mesa is in Maricopa Country. I've shot at Caswells in Mesa--nice place.

Now that that is clear I should add Maricopa is in Pinal Country not Maricopa County
