Arkansas conceal carry holders?

I have been looking at finally getting my CCL and had a quick question. Is a concealed carry class required to get my license? I have been told multiple times that I do but I cannot find where it says to in the law? All I see is to pay the fee and to fill out the paperwork.

I do not hold an Arkansas Concealed Handgun License, but can I answer anyway?

Arkansas Code 5-73-309

5-73-309. License — Requirements.

The Director of the Department of Arkansas State Police shall issue a license to carry a concealed handgun if the applicant:

...

(13) Has satisfactorily completed a training course as prescribed and approved by the director; and

Not required if you're military and M9 qualified. A letter from your commander serves as your background check as well
