Has anyone here had any experience with Armadillo holsters? I am looking at their shoulder holsters. They are half the price of Galco's shoulder holsters.
Just wondering if they are cheap or use crappy leather or anything ?

Ha ha, I clicked on this thread thinking someone made a holster out of a armadillo carapace, thinking to myself "Oh I've got to see this!". :D

Their web site looks hincky to me; no email, no phone, no physical address, prices WAAAY too cheap for a leather holster. Smells like China to me.

Yes that is kinda what I was thinking. A little too cheap. They are also on Ebay too even cheaper .

I don't think you could get an armadillo to wear a holster even if you bought it one.

Seriously though, I agree with the above- the site looks odd. The bimbo model only makes me want to shop elsewhere.

And I was going to say, why would you want to put an armadillo in a holster?

I'm sure you'd need some kind of retention device for an armadillo holster or else they'd crawl right out.:)

Dang! Fieldtester! I did the same thing. :D I was trying to figure out how that could be made...funny how that visual popped into my head.

Now its got me thinking.

edit...Mainsail and JTQ...we've got some weird sense of humor. that is funny stuff.

I've seen a handbag made from a whole armadillo.. but a holster? Could be interesting.

Actually their holsters look to be halfway decent both in design and construction. Prices seem reasonable as well. Just would like to hear some feedback from someone who has one.

Well it seems we may have a market for it. Should I start on the patents and you on the materials? :D

I said $uck it and got a Galco Jackass rig . With a nice company and warranty you cant go wrong .

It's kind of a "Buyer Beware or you get what you pay for!" deal! I've gotten burned a few times, so have learned to deal with reputable companies who stand behind their products. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is!:)

I too looked at them. But if your patient enough you can sometimes get a Galco for not much more than the Armadillo on Ebay like I did.

Armadillo Holsters

Hi guys,
I have seen the thread while browsing and couldn't resist the temptation.
We are the manufacturers of Armadillo Holsters. At the time we are manufacturing these holsters in our facilities in Turkey, not China..
our material thicknesses are equal or better than what is out there in the market. Most manufacturers, claim that they "line" their holsters.. Purpose for that is to use thinner material. Our hardware is same material as some other brands use.
We have been manufacturing and selling these products since 2008 and we stand behind our products 100%. We also understand that this is a "like and feel" business and sometimes even though there are no defects our customers occasionally may want to return a product. We honor 100% of these requests.
again my name is Andy and my phone number is 972-750-1023 as listed on our web page, you can contact me or write and email at [email protected] if you have further questions. We are located in Allen, TX
Thanks

Andy, since you're here can I ask a question? In the picture I've reposted below (and in several other holster pics on your website), is the holster actually cut to put the strap where the web of a hand is supposed to go, or did the person setting up the photos not understand how the holster was supposed to be secured?

In the case of the XDS in the picture, the holster would be engaging the grip safety and preventing one from acquiring a proper grip during the draw. So I imagine that thumb strap was supposed to go over the back of the gun, not across the grip.

hahaha you all thought real armadillo

and my first thought was armordillo concealment

both wrong

nice to see the company in question jump in though. now we know, not china.
