Got an armscor 1911A1, and not really impressed of its features and looks out of the box. However, made few improvements to make my first 1911 competitive by changing the following:
1. Replaced the original barrel with COLT
2. Installed a COLT spring-guide
3. Installed STI rear sight and optic fiber front sight
4. Replaced the original mainspring housing with a locally made checkered mainspring housing with magwell
5. Replaced the original trigger with a 3-hole ventilated trigger
6. Replaced grip with wood grip

Just sharing what I made with my armscor! Good day!

Why didn't you buy a Springfield or Colt to start with. You have spent a lot of money and still have a $300 gun.Sorry just doesn't make sense to me.

I had an armscor and while it was kind of rough internally it shot well. I changed out the hammer, sear and trigger with some kimber parts which made shoot even better. My stepson has it now and he likes it alot. Mark

Pretty dumb poll options, IMHO.

Its an old thread:

http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=113465

but I've been very happy with my Armscor45 and felt no reason to change a thing, other than the extended slide stop that my thumb would hit causing premature slide lock. Actually swapped it with the standard slide lock that came on my Armscor 1911-A2 9mm widebody (a Para P18 clone I got a month or two after starting the thread) where because of the wider grip it becomes a help instead of hinderance.

Shoot my ~$350 Armscor side by side with my ~$800+ Kimber TLE and you'll wonder what that extra $$$ really bought. The more I shoot the Armscor the more I like it.
