I was off work today so I hit all the local gun stores looking for powder & primers.

In the last store I went too, they had a few new S&W AR's and at least 1 Rock River and the prices were good.

I picked up some CCI Mini Mag 22LR today at Academy along with some 9MM and Federal 5.56.

Things seem to be slowly getting back to normal.

my local wmt has several ar's, as does my local gun shop. ammo is still scarce in .22 and .223, but some is available.

Here in upstate NY ammo is scarce and ARs are only being sold to out of state. I found a site "Ammo4less" that seems to have a supply of both.

Same here. Shoot Straight locations now have a full wall of AR15's and AK's, some starting as low as $699.

The good thing is that not many are buying so they are forced to keep lowering the prices.

Things are starting to get back to normal here in Alaska too. VERY slowly but it's happening. Seeing more powder on the shelves, still no primers though. Little by little .22 and .223 ammo is coming back. I even picked up a Colt LE6920 yesterday that had been sitting on the shelf for over a week. Guy behind the counter even mentioned that a good number of people checked it out but didn't buy. Either disposable income has run out for most people or the panic is subsiding and supply is catching up.

Cabelas in PHX was loaded with ARs Thursday. Plenty of .308/7.62 and .45 too although 9mm, .40, and .223 were unavailable.

I think the gun shortage has passed. Ammo shortage continues.

Local ads are flooded with AR-15's. Every other ad is AR-15, AK, .223, 9mm but people are still asking stupid prices. Occasionally there is a hidden gem in the madness and you have to strike while the iron is hot.

www.midwestguntrader.com if you were wondering.

I have a friend that went to a gun show somewhere around Springfield, MO a few weeks ago. Bought a NIB Bushmaster with a cheapie red dot and two 30 mags for $825 IIRC.

A little ammo is starting to show up in stores. Bass Pro and Cabelas in NW Indiana had some powder.

If anybody around South Bend needs powder, Len's on south Michigan street will sell a pound at a time.

Pistols had been hard to get, but Blythe's in Valpo has a crap load on the wall.

My local gun shop has about 10 ARs on hand at any time, Academy has had a couple in stock the last few times I have been there, and even Gander Mtn has had some in stock at decent prices lately. They certainly aren't going for the 75% markup that has been typical lately, and there is no rush to pick them up either it seems.

They are not only back, they are on sale at my LGS (Kittery Trading Post). They were running a sale on a low end M&P with a crappy stock.

I spent enough time with them while working for everyone's favorite uncle. Even after I pick one up and play with it, there's just no soul in them. I did put a 6.5 Swedish Mauser on 7 day hold though, now there's a gun with soul.
