My stepson has a 7mm rifle built on a large ring mauser action. Styling appears 50's. It is very plain but appears to be nicely made. The only markings are the caliber and "Ashton made in USA", both on the barrel. My guess is that it came set up for mounting a scope. It has a Weaver K4W. Any info would be appreciated.

Pics would be nice. In the 50's lots of companies rebranded Mausers or built on 98 actions under license, under their names. Weatherby was one, Husqvarna and Browning are the bigger names.
