"Assault Rifle" used in teen drive-by

A tragic event here in Pittsburgh. From reports, it sounds like some punk kid got ahold of a rifle and shot another teen over a dispute involving a girl. One teen dead, another wounded. The shooter was 17. I really, really hope he's old enough for lethal injection.

How do they know what kind of weapon it was if it hasn't been recovered yet?

I wonder if enough backlash will be caused by this and cases like it to force the Supremes to revisit and reconsider their decision.

Soon, we will be hearing about how we need to ban these weapons, to keep them out of the hands of those that would use them. Without anyone mentioning how a 17-yr old couldn't legally have them anyways.

The constitutionality of firearms ownership has never been in doubt with the Supreme Court.

The illegality of minors purchsing firearms hasnt been challenged.

Murder is also still illegal and the supreme court hasnt seen fit to render a new decision on this either.

The Second Amendment. But then again, I have faith that the Founding Fathers wrote it exactly as they intended it.

I think the decision by the Supremes that he is referring to is the recent one about no capital punishment for minors. Supposedly it is in accord with other nations standards.

IMHO, juvenile crime deserves a juvenile sentence. If they go out and steal a road sign, or spray paint a bridge, THAT is juvenile crime. Robbery for profit, rape, or murder is NOT a juvenile crime.

I think most other nations suck and we shouldnt be following their example. If you are old enough to commit a crime deserving of death, then you are old enough to be punished thusly.

They said AK-47 style. I have watched alot of cops for the years, when they find a SKS rifle they end up calling it an AK-47 95% of the time. Just because they may have found a 7.62X39mm empty shell doesn't mean it's from an AK-47. There are a few other rifles chambered for that round. More than likely it was a SKS that was used.

Sounds like they had already been at each other, beating on one another. One article mentioned that the kid was on a van from a program for juvenile delinquents, were from rival neighborhoods... they have been doing drive-bys on each other for the last three years. This was just the first time anybody had gotten killed.
Gang kids killing each other. It's awful but it isn't about the guns no matter what the mass media make of it. My niece is at another high school in the area and they got locked down when this happened. Crazy.

I grew up in the home of Yellow Mama (the nickname of the Alabama electric chair). As a result, I don't believe in the use of the electric chair, they should wire up some of those aluminum bleachers.
