I need your help! I had my Para Ordnance P12.45 field stripped to check the function of the magazine and slide stop. Went to put the gun back together with the slide assembled (less recoil guide rod and slide stop). Slid slide onto frame rails and it didn't feel right. Slide is jammed onto the frame, and only moves back and forth about 1/4". I'm afraid to force it off. I put it in the other room before I tear it up. Anyone ever run into something like this? I can put slide stop into the barrel link, but it won't go rearward to the installation notch. I cannot install the recoil guide rod. It will not catch the threads inside. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Sounds like the link has over-centered and jammed the barrel/slide assembly.
Reach down through the front of the slide under the barrel with a dental pic or similar and try to hook the link. Pull it forward as far as it will go, flip the gun upside down, then remove the slide. You can also try to move the link forward by reaching through the slide stop pin hole.

Here are some photos showing the gun as it stands. It is like it is welded shut! In the second photo, it looks like you can see the edge of the back lug on top of the barrel. It would be too far towards the rear if this is the case. I don't understand how it could be so tight when assembled by hand. Does anyone know of an excellent gunsmith in the greater Kansas City area? Thanks to everyone that has replied.

The barrel lugs on top of the barrel are stuck in the slide cut outs.
The barrel link must be jammed to hold this position.
If you can see the link and it will move at all, I would use a soft wood and smack it at the rear end {Hammer end} of the barrel.
One or two taps down and maybe forward at the same time should unlock that. But, I would do that with the slide facing so the link can stay loose.
It should fall into place.
The rear barrel lug is in the front slide cut out. The barrel has to move down to unlock it.
A gun smith is going to do what I just told you.
You can use Tape on the slide to insure no marks.
You may need a curved pin of sorts to loosen the barrel link and get it free.
The barrel was too far into the slide when it was pushed in.
I am pretty sure you can free this.
Make sure the barrel bushing is out. That will free float that barrel some.

I agree is has to be the barrel link flipped backwards holding the barrel up in the slide.

Before you start pounding on it, see if you can reach through the slide stop pin hole in the frame with a small pin punch and flip or force it back forward under the barrel where it belongs.

Thank the good Lord, the gun finally came apart! I saturated the barrel and slide with WD-40 for 48 hours, and manipulated everything for several days. It finally broke loose on it's own, and I took it to the range on Friday. Never hit the gun with a mallet. Just wiggled and worked everything with my hands. Shot 50 rounds of Blazer aluminum and gun was flawless. Thanks to everyone that replied with suggestions!:)
