Yep, it shows under "reply" as well, but only until you hit "post reply". I searched and found the pic, copied pic location, and used it. Must have been an old one before the changes post. I didn't check the date.
Ahhh. I can see that, and the second pic illustrates. At first from your comment I thought, "well wouldnt it give more room further forward?" But I see from the pic now that the bell of the objective would interfere. Good use of available rail space!I mounted it that way to give me a little room for my offset iron sights.
Another pic of the Nikon 3X scope mounted on an AR. Nice little scope. Good glass, not great glass, shows up in low light.
Thank you. That's the little Nikon p223 bdc carbine scooe
The last time I shot an AR was an M16A1 in 1984, and that noise drove me away from the AR until now.
Why? Does the longer barrel produce less vibration in the buffer spring? My BREN 805 is a 16 inch tube and doesn't bother me at all.Don't go under 20" if noise bothers you.
Really?Don't go under 20" if noise bothers you.
I am a SKS and K98 guy, and have totally avoided AR-15's.
Please educate me and advise as to the best "as is" (not built) dependable AR-15, for the money (cheap & working), on the market today.
I saw an ad for a Ruger AR-556 for $650.
Anything better or cheaper ? I lean more toward reliable.
You must remember that there are a lot of AR shooters that never shot a M16A1. There are also a lot of guys that used the M16A1 that have never fired an AR15. One thing about the M16A1 that is different from A2 and ARs is the butt stock. That hard butt stock on the A1 is a contributor to the noise. The new composites used today dampen the noise from the spring. Why? Does the longer barrel produce less vibration in the buffer spring? My BREN 805 is a 16 inch tube and doesn't bother me at all.
