Astra Slide

I have an older Astra Slide. On the bottom of the slide it has the partial serial # (3 numbers)The gun has a 6 total of serial numbers. The complete serial # is on the frame. I know that I must send the Frame of the gun to an FFL, since since is the receiver . What about the slide?

If you're transferring the slide, there's no requirement that it go through an FFL. Legally it's a chunk of metal. The receiver (frame) has the serial number on it because it's the legal 'firearm', not the other way around.
