Yeah, temporary. They just got us to show our hands (i.e. objections) and now they know the best direction to bypass most of those objections. We complained about the non-specific guidelines; the next ones will be specific and we won't like them. We complained about discrimination against disabled individuals; they'll make exceptions for doctors notes for those, and we won't be able to get a note. I could go on.
I wish I had commented to share a view when the comment section was open. I suppose it's still possible to file a grievance anyway, for whatever good that may do. I have shared this before so if it seems like I'm repeating myself, apologies. But I feel I have a very valid, necessary need for a smaller compact 5.56. Its a very mild, manageable recoiling cartridge that is inherently accurate and controllable for woman, smaller framed people, kids, etc... but while its mild in its recoil, its potent in terms of TB. In the case of my wife and daughter, my wife all of 110lbs cant hold my rifles up for more than a few seconds before straining and having to quit. I get her to the range as often as I can and all I can say is shooting a handgun, operating a handgun is not something that has come naturally to her and she much prefers the control of a AR pistol and can use it more effectively than anything else I've given her, and I've given her alot and tried many things. She loves the 10/22 and does well with it however it's not what I consider ideal. I feel the SBR designation puts an effective fighting tool for small people who could use a handicap such as an SBR out of reach and the AR pistol was a solution to that problem.
Some might say "well why doesnt she doe this or that, etc..." my question is why should she have to. People refer to the brace as a workaround, like it's an underhanded thing, I consider it a bandaid until the situation is actually fixed and the SBR designation goes away.
Not that I think anybody should have to justify "need", same as the case of (assault rifles)/semi automatics and (high cap)/ standard cap magazines. I would just like to know what is it about an SBR or AR pistol that makes it inherently more menacing that somebody armed with a full size rifle or shotgun, pistol, etc... they all send a projectile out the other end the same way. And while I may have a valid viewpoint worth the consideration of the governing authority, I dont feel a "need" or disability should even be a factor. If somebody want 59 of them for no other reason than they think they look cool, they ought to be able to.
