I saw an ak-47 in agun shop that had a forged reciever (US made ) unused bulgarian parts kit (not the bbl) . IT appeared very well made. the brand was American Tactical Imports. model at-47 . Has anyone owned one ,or have any knowledge about them? The price was $729. I was thinking of buying one. Thanks in advance .spence

I have one, I paid around $600 after taxes for it. I am not a big AK or AR shooter but wanted a milled AK just to have. My local dealer gave me a good deal on it when they came in. After purchasing it I started to hear a lot of negative things about them, but mine and the other dozen that were sold to my friends, or people we know have yet to have a problem. That being said a guy at the range showed me his Polish milled AK, and I have to say I liked it better. I don't know why it just seemed to be higher quality.

I have an ATI AT-47. I bought it about 18 months ago and got it for around $500 at a gun show. It runs great and looks really nice (great stock and handguard). Many - and I mean many, AK fans do not think much of the gun because it has some unconventional features like no lightning cuts, uses a stamped stock set rather than milled stock - and some other stuff. None of that mattered to me and I could not be happier with my one and only AK47.

One other point, it is quite accurate and has been perfect in terms of reliability for over 1000 rounds.
