I am moving to the ATL area (Sandy Springs) and am starting a self-defense meet-up group. We will hold formal meet-ups whenever possible, hopefully up to a few times per week.
EVERYONE is encouraged to come who can make it...the goal is proficiency in multiple disciplines relevant to self-defense. All skill levels and ages are welcome. This is an excellent way to become well-rounded as a self-defense and tactics practitioner, and the community based aspect actually makes it pretty fun.
We will be focusing on:
-integrating the handgun into martial skills and fine tuning skills for a "WBE" or weapon-based environment
-skill building in verbal and positional skills based on Shivwork (southnarc) course work
-Fitness
-martial skills such as wrestling, boxing, etc
-Eventually hosting outside guests for weekend seminars
The Feb 5 meetup date is tentative pending definite location. Please contact me at conwictREMOVEgmail.com if at all interested. As stated cost is free. We will be mostly meeting and greeting Feb 5, as well as working on a few fitness drills (nothing too difficult) and maybe doing some verbal skill building drills.
I also started a blog in case anyone is interested in following it for updates (there is also a little more explanation there): http://ss-tac.blogspot.com/
