Attaching bipod to Model 60

I have a Marlin Model 60 that I would like to attach a bipod to at some point. I have a sling swivel that is attached to the magazine tube and was wondering if I should put a bipod on that stud, or if I should put one in the stock and mount it that way. I wasn't sure of getting a stud to go on the stock because the material is so thin there. Any suggestions? Thanks guys!

Are you looking for somethin like this?

Ditch the mag tube swivel and install a stud with a machine screw about 2" back from the forend. Use a "t" nut from the hardware store, let into the channel for the mag tube to secure the stud. Works great.
