I am on a quest to own at least one true 9X18 Mak pistol that has been made in Russia, Bulgaria, and East Germany. My Russian Maks are covered, and I just put a good looking Bulgarian in lay-a-way. (My wife doesn't give me as much mulla to play with these days). My last to collect is the E.German Mak.

However, I've heard talk about there being a true Makarov made by Norinco. Since I've never seen one anywhere, this leads me to ask; Is there any truth to this rumor of a Norinco-made Mak?

I bought a Chinese Mak to have one from all 4 countries. I still have a Russian military, Bulgarian and E. German. The Chinese Mak was very rough and had a terrible trigger. It was well below the others in fit and finish, but it did shoot like any other Mak. I can't say I really miss it much. They are out there if you look around. Try the slim tim mak trader forum...

Yes, chinese Maks exist but I think they are kind of rare and supposed to be the least well made of the 4 different countries.
