There is one shining bright spot in the ecomonomy it seems!

Please understand, I am not NRA bashing, or bashing the auction site either, but they do seem to be capitalizing on the Obomination Hysteria. What I have come to realize is that this mail message below has changed my view. Until now, I never bought in to the 'hysteria' thing. I thought I, like so many others, was preparing for the upcoming ban by hoarding everything I could afford. But two things changed me.

First there was the guy that was almost in tears at the local fun shop when the owner would not come down on price or throw in any discounted goodies for the purchase of one the last AR's he had in stock. I have seen people beg, I have seen people grovel, I have seen angry people yell, but until then I had not seen a grown man pulling back on tears because the owner jacked up the price of an AR by $300 from the week before.

This note below seemed to throw me over the to the 'hysteria' side.

Will I continue to hoard? As much as I can afford - you betcha! But perhaps we have reached the peak?

It's Official!
You may have already heard the good news or seen the banners on the front page, but Auction Arms is now:

The Official Auction Website of the NRA

That's right, folks! Auction Arms has long been a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment, and the NRA's mission to protect it. As The Official Auction Website of the NRA, you can now help too!

It's Easy...
Do you want to make a contribution to the NRA? Have you got that spare gun in the back closet just gathering dust? We make it easy for you to make a difference. Just Become a Seller at Auction Arms, and when you list your gun for sale, you'll have the option of designating a percentage of that sale to the NRA!

It's a Perfect Time!
With the election this last November 4th, we have a new self-described Liberal Democrat coming into the office who isn't exactly friendly to our cause. I'm not saying we should all get rid of our guns, on the contrary! What I'm saying is that there are a lot of folks out there who think this next President might try. And they're hedging their bets by stocking up now. What does this mean to you?

tons of buyers...
You got it. There are people lining up to buy pretty much whatever they can get their hands on. In the following two weeks after the election, Auction Arms sales increased an astounding 40%! People are looking to buy if you're looking to sell. So if you've got one or two wall-hangers you don't need, or a warehouse full of stock you can't sell, bring it to Auction Arms and we'll get it sold.

To date, Auction Arms has helped raise over $94,000 for the NRA! With this new program and our status as The Official Auction Website of the NRA, we can continue to make an impact that will be felt for generations to come. Please visit Auction Arms today, and lend a hand.

Thanks again, and Happy Thanksgiving!

I say this is a beautiful piece of marketing.

I have to ask the question though - are we talking about a gun grab? or a money grab?

I would venture it's a stab by AA to stay in business. Over the last year or so, they've really shriveled compared to GB. Nowadays sellers just list on GB and AA is mostly just dealer advertising. I have nothing against AA, and wish they would prosper - more competition is better than only one vendor (look at the horrible way Ebay works since it has no competition).

I hope this breathes some life back into AA, and I'm sure they've agreed to compensate the NRA well for the advertising.

AA does seem to be struggling compared to the past few years. GB seems to be doing great and, as much as I hate to say it, Gunsamerica doesn't seem to be hurting for business. Maybe teaming up with the NRA will give AA the boost it needs.
