Today I surfed Gunbroker for a S&W 4006.

I looked at every S&W 40-06 listed. Price's are outta this world; I could not believe anyone with snaptic activity was bidding on a gun they can get a their local dealers!!!

Especially considering shipping and transfer fee cost's.

I am buying another one on Monday from my local dealer. I will be nearly a $100 cheaper than any list and as nice as any new one!

There are just too many people with too much cent's and not enough sense!

I just spent two days at a local gun show here in Nebraska, actually one of the finer shows (Fremont Gun show) and many tire kickers, know-it-alls and aisle sweepers thought the prices were high at the show.

This 'wisdom' told me they are more stupid than I can possible imagine :banghead: :banghead:.

What really scares me is these morons VOTE!

There was not one gun at the gun-show I could not have dickered down had I wanted to buy. Conversely when contacting a seller on an auction site 8 out of 10 time's the azz-whole seller doesn't even respond to an email.

Over the years I've been quick to pull the trigger on outlandish gun show prices....but now seems it to me the worm has turned!

Sure the net has a greater audience and more people will see an item in 1 nite vs 2, 3 or evey 4 days on a table at a gun show. The net is a great place for hard to find stuff but the common guns there is no way the net can win...

Sure there are exceptions EXCEPT THE LAST 5 GUN'S I'VE BOUGHT, all hard to find were not on the net but local and after buying them and then finding one listed on the net I saved more than $50 per gun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :what: :what:

Some people value their time more than saving a few bucks.

In my area I would have to travel all the way to Chicago-land or maybe the St Louis area to find shops with a decent selection of guns.

I'm in IL so a 4006 is not a gun that would be found in my area. Paying a extra 100.00 bucks finding one on line is cheap compared to my time and days it may take to find one in person.

Mike Sr. - there's a bunch of 4006's currently on Gunbroker. Which ones are overpriced in your estimation? I saw some that looked like fairly good deals, and some that might be considered overpriced, but not to the point of calling the sellers/buyers stupid. I have a 4006 that I wouldn't sell for what the majority of those on GB appear to be going for.

Mah....

I looked at a-l-l of them.*

Today I surfed Gunbroker for a S&W 4006.

I looked at every S&W 40-06 listed. Price's are 'somewhat outta this world considering part of the factory stuff is missing; I could not believe anyone with snaptic activity was bidding on a gun they can get a their local dealers!!!

Especially considering shipping and transfer fee cost's.

Mark at Summit Gun Broker has a batch the 4006TSW with night sights and three mags for $369. He usually has great prices on police surplus type guns, and is a good guy to deal with.
