August 28th, 2007: Buy a Gun Day

Just bought a "Colt Gunsite Pistol" which I had been saving up for. Maybe an Enfield or other less expensive MilSurp rifle would be just the ticket.

If your budget does not allow a new firearm to follow you home, get some ammunition, stock up on cleaning supplies, go to the range. Make it a true 'counter' demonstration where we vote with our recreational funds.

The voices in my head tell me to clean my pistol, but it's already clean for the next range trip. Right, go to the range then clean it. Sounds like a plan.

I don't agree with the Rev Jackson on many things, but I defend his right to put his foot in his mouth (and chew vigorously). I know, not nice.

JJ's National Dependence Day?

In a conversational manner, perhaps we can introduce a new, but yet appropriate, title for what the "Rev." has in mind...

National DEPENDENCE Day!

In stark contrast to what domestic Americanism should represent... INDEPENDENCE...

I'm in, I will buy a nice Ruger MKIII on Aug 28th, and I am going to name it Jesse ! It will sit in the safe alongside the Mossberg 12 ga, I purchased on the day of the LA riots, and I named him Rodney.

I've posted a thread on a couple other forums I belong to. It hasn't even been a day and I'm seeing a lot of positive feedback already. I haven't seen a lot of details on these protests or marches though. Anyone have some other links?

Well I'll be. I'm think'n I might need to purchase my little girls a .22 pistol on this day in honor of my state's local hypocrite, "Jessie Jackson is my name and agitation is my game", quote from Robert D. Raiford.

I will be attending the gun show here in Orlando on the 25th or 26th, so I may end up purchasing one a couple of days in advance if the price is right. It's the spirit that counts, right?

If any of you want to read about the event: It's here

He's not calling for the outright halting of gun sales you know... it just seems like they have an issue with "Buds Gun Shop" in Chicago, but by all means, support your local stores.

 uh... yah.... sounds like he's all for people buying guns legally but just not at Chuck's:

“Our marching does not kill people; people who buy guns from gun shops kill people,” Rev. Jackson said.

No offense, but did you actually read the press release? If that's not a call to halt gun sales I don't know what is. I guess something's wrong with all these guns that I legally bought from gun shops, Brother Jesse, they haven't killed anybody.

OMG :fire:

Rev. Jackson said. He favors tighter restrictions on who is allowed to buy guns, better background checks, longer waiting periods for gun purchases, and restrictions on how many guns an individual may buy within a calendar period.

Ahhhh the safety of being behind some keyboard anonymously huh bub.

As a secondary goal, how about trying to crash the NICS? THAT would be a great mid-week news maker. I have been accused of having a perverse sense of humor.

Ian2005, the point of the matter is that current laws do nothing but keep law abiding citizens from enacting a right that is granted through the constitution. Rev. Dip**** wants even more laws, more wickets for people that have done nothing wrong to jump through.

And as said before, he puts the blame for gun violence on gun stores. I guess we should ban the sale of automobiles, because DUI's kill people.

Another Missourian here, waiting less than patiently for Aug28 to buy a handgun without a $10 permission slip from my Sheriff.

I don't have a snubby... so I'll be adding a 642 to my collection.

If the 'reverend' Jackson adds to the reasons for purchasing on that day... so much the better :)

Or the sale of alcohol.

Oh, wait! They have tried that one! :D

I have to wonder what the real story behind Reverend JJ's harassment of Chuck's gun shop was. Did some gang-banger close to Rev. JJ get turned down by Chuck because of NICS coming back with a criminal history as big as the Chicago phone book perhaps?

:uhoh:

These people are gearing up. Whether or not they make any noise or not, these people are getting out there with these messages:

"Anti-gun, is pro life. Anti-gun, is pro-life" "A closed gun store, is a victory for the people." "We have to stop the access and the availability of guns."

They are excited about having a "Democratically controlled" Congress now.

They will be out on August 28th. This cannot go without a response.

Buy a gun that day, hold a rally at the cash register.

I apologize if the video makes you sick but this is it people, these people are the enemies of America.

I agree.

This is one choir member that doesn't mind being preached to.
;)

Well I did my part, bought my rifle today in support of the 2nd Amendment and in defiance of Jesse Jackson's nonsense.

Oh wait, why a week early you ask? Well, I live in the state (hardly) of Rhode Island, so now I have to wait my week to get it.

But I will be picking it up on, you guessed it, the 28th.:) I may wear an American flag as a cape, is that too much?

Do your part!

It won't have the poetic justice of same-day action, but organizing this for a couple of months might be worth it.

I've got an auction ending on the 29th. I hope I'm buying one that day.
Nobody outbid me...!!!

I'll have to take a trip to the local store to get a copy of their FFL and buy a few boxes of ammo on the 28th

Flags are NOT clothing, it is against the US Flag Code to use an actual American flag as a piece of clothing or to make clothing from an actual American flag...it's also disrespectful of Our flag!
