Hello friends welcome to the 2019 most popular 2019 LEO autoloader challenge
    THE RULES
Based on responses from GunnyUSMC thread and some quick research on the net

    https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/what-sidearms-do-the-leos-in-your-area-carry.853335/

You will fire 10 shots onto the approved target listed which for this challenge will be a B-16 25 yd slow fire target for both the 15 yd and 25 yd classes. Scoring will be scored by adding up the score for all 10 shots. A shot touching a line counts as the next numbering up. For instance if a shot touches the line separating the 7 and 8 the score is a 8. A X counts as 10 points.

The target used will be a B-16 25 yd slow fire target as is the match is slow fire. You can download the target and make copies online although however I downloaded it on a standard printer paper 8.5 x 11 inch paper, see example photo attached at bottom the target which is slightly smaller than standard targets that are bought or ordered and the printed ones cut out part of the 5 ring so it's best to buy some if you can. You may use any color target or put a sticker in the center X circle if you want to help aiming as long as it fits correct. See the three sample targets in the photo whatever B-16 target you get it has to have a X ring there are some available that just use orange for the whole ten ring and that can't be used.

Firearm must be held one or two handed, no rests, no benching

    There will be two classifications.

    Class 1, 10 shots at 15 yds,
    Class 2, 10 shots at 25 yds

Please include with the target submission

    username
classification entered class 1 or 2
    score
    firearm
    ammunition
    date

    Allowed cartridges are as follows
    9mm
    .357 Sig
    .40 S&W
    .45 ACP

Allowed handguns are as follows based on Gunny's thread and internet research, the most popular issued or carried handgun as of current, sorry but handguns issued of days past don't qualify, if you feel there might be a handgun that should be on the list (that is in current use) say so and we will decide
FIXED SIGHTS ONLY, adjustable sights are not allowed

    Glock 17, 19, 21, 22, 23, 31, 32, G45
    SIG, 220, 225, 226, 227, 229, 320
    Beretta 92 and 96
    H&K USP
    H&K P30
    H&K SFP9
    H&K VP9, VP40
    S&W M&P ,Shield
    S&W 5906 , 5946
1911 series 4 inch to 5 inch barrel

then take a pic of it and post it here, if you would post a pic of the firearm used as well.

You may submit as many targets as you wish provided it was shot with a different firearm. One target submission per firearm is allowed within the class . You can take as many tries that you want BEFORE you post your target but only post the target you want to submit for the final submission to the challenge.

If you have a family member or friend that wants to enter they can using your user name and firearm just make notes when posting.

The cutoff date for submissions is September 30 2019, this mid July so it gives a extra two weeks.

Please submit targets even if you don't think they'll win as the information on how well what shoots may be valuable to other members

    Good luck and good shooting

Any questions such as how to post pics or qualifying firearms, or links to possible target downloads please feel free to ask

Are conversion barrels ok? For example, a .357 Sig barrel in a Glock 22/23? Since aside from the markings on the slide, it is then the exact same gun as a Glock 31/32. What about the conversion barrels that allow one to shoot 9mm through a .40 slide? Or a .40 cal 1911 barrel in a 10mm gun?

Can't participate, don't own a single one of those. Good luck to the competitors!

I don't see a problem, still a qualifying frame and caliber.

Meh, I have a VP9, and two slides. One is even wearing iron sights exclusively.

Just not sure I’m interested in this one as the rules seem arbitrarily restrictive. For example no adjustable sights, which I assume means no optics, even though optics are the future of duty handgun sighting, and are currently in use. Even the US military is jumping into the slide mounted optic user pool.

Why eliminate shooters for being able to make the gun hit where the sights are looking?

While I would like to use adjustable sights, I have a USP fixed and another adjustable and for target shooting adjustable are better but fact is law enforcement handguns are almost always fixed sights, with a drive the dot sighting or center mass sighting . While optics might be the future as of right now they are not very commonly issued.

There will be other challenges coming that might fit your needs better.

Well, all I have is a Colt Combat Commander series 70. But I'll give it a fair chance against the "newer" guns.

Ok, finally got out to shoot. I brought the 9mm Glocks today. I usually settle down and start to improve after the first couple targets. Today, my best target was the first one I shot. It’s a good start, I suppose.

And apparently I didn’t read the rules as closely as I could have. I was thinking the mini-Glocks were on the list as well. So I shot the G27 with a Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrel.

Since I went to the bother of shooting it, I’ll post this for reference as a non-entry.

I initially shot it using a .40 cal mag, since it has the Pierce pinkie grip basepad. I did get a couple malfunctions with it. So for the 25 yard target I switched to a G19 mag. It doesn’t feel as good, but still gives a bit more to grip than the flat G26 mag.

I finally got new progressive glasses (Why I did not participate in last 22LR shoot with GSG 1911) but now I got Glaucoma and touch of cataract in my left eye (Thankfully not right eye).

I will give it a go with Glock 22/23, M&P Shield 9mm and Sig 1911.

Triggers? I’ve got factory triggers in my Glocks now, but what’re the rules for those who run super light Glock triggers? I shoot measurably better with a 3.5 connector, but unless it’s combined with heavier trigger spring I wouldn't carry it...I guess I’m meaning is a Glock with a light trigger still a duty pistol?

For testing purposes for Handloading & Reloading category, I keep factory triggers in all of my pistols.

Although LE agencies probably won't allow altered triggers for officers or agents for the sake of this thread it is alright. Yes members can start submitting targets now

Beretta 92FS USA I have had since 1996, I struggle with drive the dot sighting as you will see in all my entries compared to 6 o clock hold but to use 6 o clock hold all shots would be way low. Actually did these targets couple weeks ago .

I would participate but my Glocks didnt even come from the factory with fixed sights, and I've long since swapped them out.

I really dont understand this rule.

I'm trying to be creative and keep these challenges within certain classes and with themes, I will in time come up with a challenge that will accommodate almost all members with almost all types of guns. However see below the challenge has been amended.

I asked the question on the GunnyUSMC thread they said that almost all departments have fixed sights, so I'm going with that and really, a adjustable sight gun tuned for target shooting just gives a clear advantage in a match like this.

However in the spirit of inclusion among THR members, the challenge is amended as follows. Same firearms and same cartridges on the initial list but now there is...

Class 3 15 yards adjustable sights
Class 4 25 yards adjustable sights
Class 5 25 yards with optics

Firearms exception or inclusion, the CZ-75 has now been included after research that shows it is a common model for police in various parts of the world to get a international flavor added.
