I am researching a shotgun marked August Stukenbrock Einbeck. It is an external hammer .16 ga SxS fully engraved with gold wire inlay at the chamber ends. Each barrel is also marked ESPECIAL STHAL at the chamber.
Proof marks on water table a definitely Belgian black powder. Trigger guard is buffalo horn. Any info or links will be appreciated. Thanx...

Einbeck is in Germany, about 50 miles south of Hannover. I used Google, searching for August Stukenbrock. He appears to have been a maker of bicycles and also a general distributor of sporting goods and hardware. A copy of his 1913 catalog is for sale on the German E-bay right now; they are asking Euro 24,90, but say will ship only in Germany. The picture shows the catalog open to two pages of shotguns, which appear to be several types of double barrel guns, all with external hammers. The photo is too small to read the prices or other information, but the guns appear to be reasonable quality.

Since Stukenbrock appears to have been a distributor rather than a manufacturer, the Belgian origin of your shotgun is entirely possible.

Go over to www.gunshop.com and post an EXHAUSTIVE description of the gun, and ALL of its markings. Leave nothing out, and I'll bet one of the double gun nuts over there will be able to help you.
