I used to go every month. But after the dreadful results of the last election, it was so croweded, you couldn't even get into the parking lot, much less the show. It was like this for at least a few months. I'd drive down, but just kept on going when I saw how crowded it was. But I'm really itchin' to go to a show.

So anybody make it last month? Has the maddness died down?

I dunno about Austin, but the San Antonio shows (SAXET, Texas Gun Show) were pretty bad for a while (mostly during the summer); but have quelled down quite a bit. There is no longer a line to get in, and you are able to get to the tables to look at stuff. It helps to get there when they open, we usually get up early and have breakfast at IHOP before going.

By the way, what shows do they have in Austin and who sponsors them?

Cheers! M2

Not as bad as post election. Been about average if not a little slow the last two times I went. I'll most likely be there tomorow afternoon looking for a Magpul CTR and a couple of P-mags

We have Saxet also. I haven't gone since June, but if bored Sunday may go. Who knows maybe I can find those uppers I've been looking for?

The shows are pretty back to normal as far as guns. Ammo is still not so hot at the shows. The San Antonio show is a pain to go to at the Freeman and has a stiff parking charge. I only go to the Al-... (sp?) shrine one.

I go to Austin if I have something else to do up there. It's fun to go to the show and then up to the giant Asian market and the BBQ chinese restaurant.

I am headed to the Saxet show tomorrow-
Haven't been since june at least-
The other show that is the first of the month Texas Gun Shows (I think) in Austin is small but as good potential if the promoter would promote it and get some more vendors in there- it will take time though- I will continue to go and support it.

I hated going to it at the freeman colisieum, way to congested. I normally will spend all my mad money, I spent most of it on parking!!

Thanks All for the feedback. It sounds good, and I'll be rubbin' elbows with ya tomorrow.

Parking at Freeman is $3 and $5 to get in, is that considered excessive for such a large show?

The Texas Gun Shows show here is $7 to get in (parking is free), but it is a fraction of the size of the SAXET show.

The Freeman show isn't that much better than the old Broadway show with no parking charge. The major players are pretty much the same at Austin, Al-fazar or Freeman.

You might find some more used guns at Freeman but that's about it.

Vegas shows are 14-15 each and thats after $5.00 to park, Mostr of the show is jewelery and beef jerky and a sprinkeling of over priced ammo. Guns forget it. Last show with the two of us , acouple of cold beers and parking was a $50.00 experience (for about 1 1/2 hours) I should have spent the $50.. on ammo if any gunshops in town had some. Yea i am bitter,
