I saw a samll article online (I don't remember where) that talked about the new Auto Assault-12 shotgun. It looks like an assault rifle & has like a 20 or 30 round drum with 12 ga shells. Does anyone knowif this shotgun is worth a crap or not?

It's a pretty evil sounding machine! I like it. There is a full review in the current issue of "Combat Arms" magazine published by Guns & Ammo. There's a picture of the cover here http://forum.china-defense.com/showthread.php?p=441397 if you want to look for it at your local store. The cyclic rate is somwhere around 350rpm, 20rd drum, low recoil (bolt doesn't bounce off gun at full rearward travel, just spring tension). I want one! I don't think we can have one though. It's full auto, SBS, and post 86. I don't know if the FA shotguns are classified as destructive devices or machineguns.
BTW if you like military weapons that magazine is definitely worth picking up. I read it cover to cover.

So they are full auto...wow. Do you yhink they will produce a semi-auto for "civilian use"? I don't really know what use I would have for it, but like the Glock 18 I want one. :D

OMG. Imagine that puppy with 12-ga shotgun grenades.

My response was basically, in order: :uhoh: :what: :D

That thing should be good against light vehicles and powered armor - I predict this may wind up the standard infantry weapon of the next century. God save us all if they put BLAM shells in there.

Do a search in this forum. We've talked about it here, and the inventor even posted.

You could do up a Saiga shotgun in a similar fashion for not a whole lotta money.

Oh yeah, and a semi-auto version of the Glock 18 is called the Glock 17, perfectly available for civilian use and can use the same mags :neener:
