Auto primers

I have the Lee Auto Primer for my Lee Turret press. Haven't used it yet. All the videos and other instructions show that after put the primers in the tray you should jiggle the tray to get the primers all turned the right way. My question is, if you can't get them all flipped over the same direction can you do it by hand (after taking the cover off of course) or with a pair of tweezers or something. Haven't ran into this yet just being proactive

Yes you can by hand.
Just wipe the Big Mac grease off your hands first.

But you shouldn't need too.
Just keep shaking the tray around and the little ridges will eventually flip them all right way up.

I flip mine over with a toothpick then put the toothpick in the slide to block it when I'm putting it on my progressive press. They work well but you have to shake them once in a while to keep the track full or they won't go into your die the whole way on their own.

If your hands are clean it won't hurt to touch the primers.

I handle primers all the time. When loading 6PPC for my Bench gun I used a Sinclair hand primer and put each primer in the tool by hand. I routinely flip a primer here and there in my RCBS hand primer if the first couple of jiggles doesn't flip them. I'll dump s few from the box into my hand and then pour them into the tray.

It is hard to kill primers. Like rcmodell posted, just don't do it while your hands are nasty and covered in solvents..

The primers pretty much all flip over the right way with a couple of shakes. I did find a use for one of my old reloading trays though. The little tab on the priming devise fits into a space and lets the whole thing lie level. Then you can shake the heck out of it.

If I try to do it manually I flip them ON THE FLOOR, the flip tray on the Auto prime works a whole lot better, take it off the arm and it's even easier!

The new trays with the dots flip better than the older designs with the concentric ridges, it really doesn't take a shake but rather a twitch or maybe two.

This sounds like you're going to shake them up with the cover on. You shake them with the cover off and only put the cover on when they are all turned anvil up. Then the cover goes on and keeps them from flipping back over.
