Ok, the AWB is over and I want an AK with the underfolding stock. What are my options?

This is what I want, but I don't want to spend nearly a grand for an AK.

Can I buy a Romanian AK (hopefully with a front sight that's straight) and put a underfolder on it and still remain in compliance with US parts? Would the underfolder have to be made in the U.S.?

I guess I'd like to spend around $500 or less.

Thanks,
Wardog.

P. S. Why didn't I buy that underfolding Norinco from Woolworth's in CA back in the 80's when they were selling them for $299??? :banghead:

Here ya go.

Scroll down about halfway and look for the AK V-47 Underfolder. If you're a member of another certain internet forum that is named after a certain Eugene Stoner invention, Atlantic Firearms offers a discount, marking the price down $20. Here's a link to that thread.

There is a 4-6 week wait however, due to high demand. One good thing about Atlantic is they won't charge your credit card until the rifle's ready to go out the door.

I'm really thinking hard about ordering one of these in the near future, as well as a couple of their AK V-47C Classics, one with wood furniture and one with polymer.

OFF_VET & Jack19, thanks for the links I'll be reading up on both.

Vector......Vector........that's not Hesse right? Hesse just recently changed their name to something else. Everything I've heard tells me to run, not walk, from Hesse.

I've been to Vector's shop. There was rack after rack of UZI's in various states of completion. It was almost surreal.
They are a quality organization making quality products.
