Awful lot of new people at THR

I lurked here for awhile, and decided alot of the advice given was sound. Not too many trolls, and not too many Anti-gunners flooding this site with their propaganda. A few of the other sites were a bit too extreme, and the others seemed too loosely moderated, so here I am.

It seemed like every time I searched for firearm related issue, the answer was here. I started lurking and liked the maturity of the moderators and members. I eventually decided to start participating. I am really glad the moderatos keep the discussions focused on issues and do not let them degenerate into personal attacks and name calling.

Like Big Boomer I'm here because of Packing.Org's demise.
Sad to think Mark Solomon let all that information and expertise vanish into cyberspace.
The premier firearms site on the web until the explusion of the moderators and introduction of the despised rating system on July 30,2005.
Almost 2 years to day later,July 24, he pulled the plug.

I also mostly lurk and hardly post. Mostly this comes from lack of knowledge, or someone beating me to the post if I do actually know something.

But here is another question for you knowledable guys. I am referring to the pic of Coors posted on the first page. Someone told me that Coors donates money to anti-gun organizations. Any one else heard of this? I tried to confirm it on the NRA's online list, but didnt see Coors on there.

I check in almost every day and usually will lurk for a couple hours. I don't post often enough because whenever I feel the urge to respond or contribute, someone beats me to the punch. I'm not complaining------I'm really happy to know there is a place like this to learn. I am a newbie to concealled carry and the help I've received here through the members of THR is of great importance to me. Everything from types of ammo for the range and for personal protection to concealment holster recommendations and safety issues has been of the greatest importance to me. Thanks y'all.

Welcome to the New Folks.

<seated at the Roadhouse>

Biker,
Stay seated, I'll handle this.

Hey Melissa! Biker needs another beer, I could use a Cheeseburger with Onion rings and and while you are up, feed the Jukebox and we wanna hear Jessica by the Allman Bros.

And some folks say I can't delegate...*grin*

Newcomers

Welcome To The High Road~!

We here at THR are glad that each and every one of you decided to join the
best firearms web site on the net. Pull up a chair, and start having fun; as
its a wonderful place too be~!

What he said :D

Ah...'Sweet Melissa'.

~Biker raises a glass~ "In Memory Of Elisabeth Reed!" he shouts.

Biker...Thanks Bro

I've lurked here for a looooong time before joining. Whenever I did an internet search for a firearms-related question, THR would show up. I decided to stay because of the civil discussions... and because THR has a good mix of viewpoints, not just ultra-tactical mall ninja bologna, like on some other sites.

I think people are waking up to the fact that mere objects aren't inherently evil, and that the responsibility for their own safety is ultimately their own... Not just here, but in everyday life, more and more people are interested in bearing arms for self defense.

(I just realized that I joined on 9/11. NO, it had nothing to do with terrorism.... just coincidence)

I just started to build an interest in firearms a couple months back when a friend took me to a gun show. Decided to get my CWP and am in the process of waiting to receive it. I stumbled over here somehow soon after =)

Could part of it be the Ebay ban on selling stuff? I haven't really paid attention to the accesories for sale section to see how much has changed there.

I just hope they see the SEARCH and THR LIBRARY and figure out how to use them.:D

I kept searching things on google and the answers were always here without the mall ninja or other crap so I figured I might as well skip google and join.

Love this place!

Welcome new members!!

Even though I have very fiew posts ive been here a couple years, am I still a prospect, havent recieved my patch yet:D:D

I'm also a relatively new member.

I'm a 58 year old veteran that was born and reared on a farm. For far too long I was too busy with the minutiae of everyday life. Frankly, I didn't give much thought to my rights because I assumed they would always be there.

What is different now? I have more free time now and have given this all some thought. I think there are three key factors from my viewpoint. They are.

1. It is becoming more apparent to me that our society and our culture is under a real threat. Both from external enemies who would do us harm and internal entities who refuse to acknowledge this threat.

2. With the upcoming election I think there is a real possibility that our 2nd Amendment Rights might be threatened. It has happened in Great Britain and elsewhere and it CAN happen here also.

3. I have four young grandsons. I want them to be able to know the same pleasures and rights I've always taken for granted. I pray that it will never be necessary for anyone of them to use violence to protect their freedoms or their lives. But I want them to have the means to do so should it become necessary.
