So I finally caved in and bought one ftf from a buddy of mine. Im kickin myself in the behind for not checking it out properly before purchasing it.:banghead:

heres my problem.I've heard of barrel cant and everything the ak sites say about troubles, but what about this.

The entire section of the rifle past the reciever, including upper and lower grips, gas cylinder and barrel are all off to the right.

The rifle shoots off right, not by much, but its very noticable. It's almost as if when they assembled it at the plant they placed those parts to the reciever off-center.

My question is THR members, I work in an armory as an MOS, and have access to some tools, is there anything I could do to correct it?

go to an actual AK site instead of a general firearms site....

the best on the net is

ak-files.com

ya will need to press out the barrel pin, press out the barrel unless its extremely minor cant, reinstall the barrel with everything at 12:00 then drill out to slightly larger barrel pin and install new larger pin made from drill rod .002" larger than the new hole(if the headspace is fine ya can simply reuse the 7 mm barrel pin but I usually tighten up headspace while re-installing the barrel as they are usually on the loose end of spec). takes me 15 minutes takes others an hour and some take a couple days..... totally dependent upon YOU as to how difficult it is to correct, I've been building AKs for over 23 years, droppin a barrel is a minor job for others its the ultimate intimidation

Don't be too depressed. Think of it as a fun project. Afterwards, you will look back and be glad because it forced you to learn and understand how your gun works.

I've had similar situations happen with other things in my life and looking back, I am actually grateful at how things happened.
