Little Christmas gift to myself! :)
Actually, the rifle is a Pars International import Egyptian Sporter AKM semi auto.
For the last year or so, it has been laying in pieces on my workbench.
I have done a lot of work to this rifle over the years, new US made internals, gas piston, upper handguard assembly, and pistol grip but,,,
The front sight tower on this rifle has always been canted to the right.
With the help of my seldom used Arbor Press, a torch and a few basic tools, i.e BFH & a Foredom grinder, I popped the tower off the barrel, cleaned the sight barrel and barrel surfaces, tinned with silver solder, reinstalled and aligned top dead center, then soldered and pinned back in place.
Nice! Even the cleaning rod is aligned down the center of the barrel now!
Tomorrow I shall shoot this beast and see if the accuracy potential has improved any.
This rifle has always been a bullet hose the kids enjoyed shooting more than I have, we will see if that changes.
Another evil feature rifle back on the shooting line <Gasp>
Happy Christmas everyone! Mine just got a little better.
