are these scope mounts any good i just got a m44 carbine that has one on it and i was considering making it a scout style rifle since the scope mount is on there, so are these mounts solid or do they fall apart after the recoil of numerous rounds?

Not familiar with B Squared but I'm assuming it's like any other scout mount that replaces the rear sight leaf and spring and mounts in with two allen screws. I've got one on my M-44, don't exactly recall the brand, but I recommend liberal use of red lock tight. I installed and took it out with a cheapo red dot (NcStar) and within the first 3 rounds, the mount had worked its way loose. Took it back in, rolled the threads with red lock tight, reinstalled, let sit for a couple hours to dry, took it back out, 25 rounds later and it wasn't the slightest bit loose.

I had a B-square for my 1903 before i got it drilled and tapped, and didnt think the casting was all that good. The machined parts fit the way they were supposed to tho. I like the s&k tho they are more expensive.

I have a UTG mount on a Mosin and the screws that came with it were crap. I replaced them with some M8 ones that are used for engines and they worked fine, but the mount quality is iffy. I wouldn't buy one again. The problem is there aren't many cheap Mosin scope mounts that work great. You'll be golden if you buy one that was designed by the Russians to go on the rifle but those are more expensive.
