baby desert eagle II semi compact mag question

Baby Eagles take the same magazines as the CZ-75B.

However, CZ-75B magazines will not work in a CZ-75 (no B) without some work on either the frame or the magazine or both.

Baby Eagle should take magazine made for the small frame Witness - same frame by the same company, but changes might have been made since last I looked.

My large frame Witness mags fit fine in my Baby Eagle. Not sure what's different on the Baby Eagle II, but I would imagine they would for that too.

Semantics regarding who the importer is, was or could be don't really matter here. If all that was changed was a few minor details, the mags from CZ and the Witness series guns should work just fine.

Witness mags are a hair longer than cz mags.

When I had both, I found that the CZ "compact" mags were longer than the mags made for Tanfoglio-designed "compact" guns, not the other way around. And full size mags tended to be interchangeable.

The CZ mags (or mags made to work in CZ models) typically work in the Eagle compacts, but not vice versa, but aren't flush fit. Full-size mags work, too -- but stick out even farther when used in compacts.

I bought some Witness "compact" mags from CDNN years back for my CZ compact and they were quite a bit shorter than the CZ factory mags and couldn't lock into the grip. Did something change in recent years, or have the newer compact models grown? It may be that the newer polymer-framed Tanfoglio-design compacts use longer mags, now...

Baby Eagles and IWI (and IMI) weapons - all made in Israel -- are (or were) licensed versions of the Tanfoglio design -- and Tanfoglio still makes the Witness for EAA. (Most of the Turkish-made guns based on the CZ pattern also started out as licensed versions of the Tanfoglio design -- but that may have changed over the years.

I think some of the newer Turkish-made compacts are very similar to the CZ compacts in size (including mag sizes). I'm not sure whether any of these Turkish or other "newer" models use the shorter (original) Tanfoglio compact mag length.

The original BE used frames made in Italy by Tanfoglio of Italy, then assembled in Israel. How they do it now I am not sure of, haven't been involved with Tanfoglio, the company, for some years now, used to communicate with them often back in the day, lo, about 16 years ago.
