Baby desert eagle question

I had one in 45 for a long time. It is a fine handgun.

I am pretty sure they also make it in 9 and 40 too.

Also known as the Jericho, made by IMI if I remember right.

Produced by Zbrojovka Vsetin, Czech Republic, primarily as a BUG in .380 ACP and 9 mm Makarov (9x18).
Wait a minute, I am sorry, I had in mind the Micro.

I believe they are made in isreal by IMI - Charles Daly got the contract away from Magnum Research. However, they went broke last year.

Kahr bought Magnum Research, and they recently just publicly stated that they will be importing it again. It's now the baby eagle 2. After Shot Show, they claim they will be importing them again> So, likely Spring 2011 is when we will see new batches arrive.

They come in 9mm, 40 and 45 ACP.

I really want one in 45ACP myself.

There were a lot of closeouts on them after Charles Daly went bust - but I held off on buying one because there was no one to provide customer service/repair.

I do not know if Magnum research will fix ones imported by Charles Daly for the short time they had the pistol contract. They might. But now, any Magnum research marked one is being serviced by them again. They announced that recently too.

IMI (Israel Military Industries)

There are 3 - 9mm and two-40 cal on Gunbroker if you have about $500, plus shipping plus FFL. No 45's that I saw.

It is a nice looking pistol.

All the above is pretty spot on. they come in three sizes and calibers.

Full-size models include 9mm and .40 and can be found with and without the accessory rail.

Mid-size (full-size grip, shorter slide/barrrel) is the only size that includes .45ACP

Compact (Shorter grip, shorter slide/barrel) is in 9mm and I believe .40, I've never personally seen a compact .40

They are great range guns with a decent DA trigger and a good SA trigger. The initial few rounds might be a bit gritty, but the trigger cleans up with a judicious amount of dry fire practicing. The gun is heavy, which is good for absorbing recoil and naturally "drops" back on target. IMO it's weight better serves it as a house gun than a carry gun.

Depending on which import model you get, the name changes, but is essentially the same pistol. MR imported it as the Baby Eagle, and Charles Daly imported it as the Jericho.

Also, if you need parts or labor, the EAA witness is a very close relative of this pistol. Not everything is the same, but many of the parts are, such as the extractor.

I suppose I should add in, I own a .45 caliber model, very accurate gun, and the trigger is great in SA. The barrels in these are polygonal. Here is a helpful resource for more knowledge about this pistol: http://www.941forum.com/
