Bachman Pawn and Gun in Dallas?

Well, from lurking on this thread, it sounds like I should call Ray's to see if I can get them on my site.

As long as we're talking about the Dallas area, though, does anyone have any positive or negative comments about Brutha Dave's Guns in Arlington?

I've dealt with Ray and Donnie Brantley for over 30 years. Great store(s). They have everything you can imagine. If you don't see it, ask.

I also bought my s/s Colt Gunsite Pistol from Bachman's. Over the phone. With a credit card. Cheaper than what they had advertised. (They didn't know me from Adam, either.) I guess all my good deeds that week paid off.

I'll see how my schedule looks Friday. If possible, I'll sure be there. It's been awhile since I've made the Hajj and I feel so unclean because of it....

BTW, double-check your door locks when you park.

See y'all there if I can drag my lame self away.

Regards,
Rabbit.

My only experience with Bachman Pawn & Gun was when I contacted them when I was in the market for a COLT LE 6920. They are asking $1500 for the 6920 which is BS but they will not get my business.

dutchman,

go to the Austin gun show this weekend i bet you can find a NIB LE6920 for about $1350 if you're willing to pay that.....AJC Sports Shop has them for around that price.

all i have at the moment is Rock River, DPMS, and Bushmaster. no Colts.

I've bought a couple of guns there, and was treated right.

My second-to-last pistol was a Kimber 1911 that I needed for work. I knew what I wanted, and went to the Dallas Gun Show to cruise for good deals on the Kimber Stainless Classic. I found one on a table from another dealer, and asked if it had the firing pin interlock device. (I didn't want one.) I was told rather gruffly that they were all the same. (This was 4 years ago.) The man's price was roughly $15 better than Bachman Pawn's, but Bachman Pawn's guy said, "Heck, I've got several new Series I Stainless Classics, right here." I ended up going by Bachman Pawn the next day and chose a Kimber. They let me try the triggers on each to choose my favorite. When I mentioned that I had chosen them over the other dealer because Bachman took better care of their customers, the counterman threw in an extra 8-round Kimber magazine, which completely made up the difference in the price.

Their location on Northwest Highway isn't the nicest side of Dallas, but the selection is good, the prices very competitive, the counterhelp knowledgable, and the service courteous and professional. What more could I want?

Boorow and I were there looking at the quick-shooting stuff at the back corner for the most part. Didn't you see the old codger and the linebacker back there? We saw you.

Stealty we are, yes.

We were particularly wary of the two young individuals with the child who came in looking for a magazine for the new, expensive stainless S&W autoshucker which he was carrying in his back pocket. Interesting...high dollar pistol and he was miffed over the price of a $30. magazine.

Regards,
Rabbit.

"I didn't see anyone at Ray's that looked highroad."

Gee........you know, Rabbit and I were there and we didn't see anyone highroad either. :D

What the heck does Highroad look like anyway? I guess Rabbit's Border Patrol hat didn't snag your attention. :scrutiny:

I found Bachman to be rude and I will not visit his tables at the Houston shows. I found the gun I wanted at A & J Guns 4131 S. Buckner Blvd Dallas Tx for a few dollars less and they were very polite and they even sent me a thank you card. I have never had that happen before. They were the cheapest of all the dealers on my 1911. They will get my business again, however Mr. Bachman will not see my face again.

Spreadfire Arms I did not see any 6920 at the Gunshow this last weekend because I was busy sell guns for you at your table. :what:
he let me hold his MP5 too :)

haha you are crazy.

well i have two 6920's now for you to fondle too, but somehow i think you will be busy fondling all the other Class III stuff instead. :)

just dont make a pile of them on the floor and roll around them nekkid. :what:

I was in Bachman's today (Dallas), and they seemed poilite and professional.

Their on display selection IS rather limited.

If you like Colt/Kimber M1911 clones, they do have an excellent selection.

On shotguns displayed, they are almost EXCLUSIVELY Benelli.

Their store are is split bewtween pawnshop and gunshop, and the gun area really isn't that huge.

But they are worth a visit,

you never know what will scratch your itch.
