Just got back from the National Shoot at Friendship Indiana. Been gone for
a week. Wife's gun broke, she had to buy another one to shoot. She came in
second in the womens championship. Missed first by only 2 X's Daughter came
in second in the Jr's. I only had one good target, a 25 yd. caplock match.
Got first in it. Scored a 98 XXXX. Rainned a lot. We were in a tent. Next year
the motel. I'm getting too old for this. Had a good time tho. Here's the target
I shot. The first shot was the 8. Don't ask me how or why. It happens!!

Congratulations and great target.
It was the man's turn to win this year!

What kind of pistol did the wife end up buying as a replacement?

Well she bought this old dogbeater. It's a 32 cal . Green Mt. barrel. Real good
trigger. Shoots good. Made by John Mouzon of SC. Early one. Didn't cost
too much. Real good balance. Got her main one fixed so it's OK now.

Glad you and the family had fun at Friendship. I've been to Friendship numerous times, but always hung around the gunbuilders. It's been years since I've been back.

I drilled & tapped the striker pin 6-32 and screwed in a short striker rod
that was threaded on each end 6-32. Then went to a hardware store and
bought a little brass round nut that was threaded 6-32. Bought a wood dresser knob and drilled out the hole just so the little brass nut was a press
fit. Filled it up with expoy glue and glued it in the wood knob. Screwed on
the steel rod. Had to drill a hole with a carbide bit thru the allen screw in back
of the pistol so the rod would fit. Works real slick. No drag at all. Slick. I did
turn down the dresser knob the size you see, stained it and varnish. Showed
it to Rob last Monday. He said all he is building now have the knob on back
like mine. He didn't even get mad at what I had done. He said when you cock
back his now you can push the knob forward so you don't see it move when
you fire the pistol. Whew! He did not like the Ed Rayle barrel I had put on it.
Oh well, that's just him. Should have told him, that's what all the big boys shoot. That would have got him. :D

I'm in Kansas City and it's 550 miles east of us. A 10 hour drive. We been
going for 18 years now. It's about half way between Louisville and Cincinnati .
