XDGirl, in considering how and where to carry a backup weapon, think about why one would need it. It will likely be in a position of distress (flat on your back after falling, being shot, rolling on the ground with an assailant,
inter alia). Thus, it is vital that you are able to access the weapon with either hand and especially accessible with your non-dominant hand.
All methods have pros and cons:
"In my pocket"--dangerous, can be slow to draw and not optimal if you are seated.
"On the ankle"--slow, but great if you are seated.
I like it on my left (non-dominant) side on the belt. I can reach with either hand and it comes out very quick.
Just have to see what works for you. My suggestion, buy a box.

*the box is where you put holsters that do not work for you*
