Bad fitting stock from Boyd's

I got a cheapee from Boyd's for my Browning A5 and the varnished stock needs allot of fitting.
That means I would have to sand all the varnish off to make it match.

It would easier just to fix my old stock, which is better walnut.

You didn't buy a stock - you bought a kit. It's actually easy to fix (spoke shave, block plane, #49 Nicholson & then #50 Nicholson, then scrape, scrape, scrape) but since it's a finished product, I'd exchange it for a better one or get my ducats back.

If yours is one of the old Belgium Browning A5s, the wood is about 140 times better than a Boyds replacement stock.

I am with 4v50 Gary, send that one back and fix the old one. Sometimes A5 stocks pop up on Ebay if it is too far gone.

I did an overhaul on a rusty A5 Sweet Sixteen this spring and it turned out great but it was alot of work...

I just sent an A-5 back to Browning for a customer and had it completely refurbished and a mechanical problem repaired. It came back in about 5 months and was absolutely beautiful. The best A-5 I've ever seen. It was brand hammer new. If you don't want to do it yourself and you want to know it's going to be done right. Send it back to the manufacturer.

I am going to fix the original stock and throw the Boyd's in my junk pile.

This is what is wrong.
I fired three shots real fast at a rooster pheasant coming down a ditch toward me and some of the stock fell out at the wrist where it had been repaired by a previous owner.
