Dog threw up all over my soft rifle cases on the ride to the range.

Forgot to bring paper targets for checking groups.

Shot holes in my ar500 at 100 yards with my 308! I've shot this same steel with faster rounds. Maybe it got weakened from being shot so many times? Its held up fine for years. 150 grain hornady soft points "not" ap rounds blew right through. Lucky for me I only carried one piece out.

Non English speaking family I'm guessing from Spain walk right up to the back of my truck eyeballing everything. Probably not seen many guns. No idea of personal space. No don't touch the dog! They don't call them Malligators for nothing. He might bite.

When the Escilade with face tats and mag dumpers showed up I had enough and went home.

First time I didn't have fun shooting in my life. Could have been worse I guess...like a gun blow up.

Have you ever had a bad no fun day at the range?

A while back , I went to "The Wall", and drove into a ditch and totalled my 2018 Ford Focus with 36k miles on it.

Yeah.. I think we've all had bad range days.

Bad days happen, that's one reason I always take at least 2 guns to the range with me.

I had this happen on one outing. Would have ruined my day but I also had my 617 with me.

Next session my friend blew up his gun with a double charge. Out came the back-up.

Man, I thought my day of having to return to the fundamentals because I was jerking the gun anticipating the recoil was bad. Your day gave me new perspective on mine.

Some of my worst trips were first trips with a new to me gun or setup.

Finding out the Colt Defender wouldn't fire. At all.
Next trip finding out it fires but locks up.

Finding out the Mini 14 Target launches brass at mach 3, losing 19 of 20 pieces.

Thinking I found out my new scope was blurry, only to find out they're all blurry now...because of an astigmatism.

Identified the guy in the next firing lane shooting a SW Mod 59 as a drug felon who had a history of violence. It had been almost a decade since we booted him from the rehab shelter and left him behind bars. It was the last time I shot at that range.

Bad range days for me always seem to involve strangers on public ranges. I’ve had others shoot my targets, point guns at me (and others), pick up brass downrange with the range hot, blow up stuff with Tannerite, the list goes on and on. That said I’ve had many more good days than bad. I shoot at a private range now and things are much better.

My worst range day was firing my new to me Ruger Deerfield semi-auto rifle in 44 mag. Turns out both types of ammo I had for it were ""bad" and "terrible." I had no idea. It is a very finicky eater by design. I had 180 grain HOT stuff that worked the action so quick it could not eject and add a new bullet. The other mystery stuff I bought at a local gunshow reloads, were so WEAK they could not cycle the action, making it a single-shot rifle.

I bought the rifle on a semi-whim and thought I had bought a total LEMON. So, I sent it to a shop in Montana where one of the nation's foremost experts on the platform checked it out top to bottom, tested it with 4-5 types of ammo, and it worked flawlessly. All of which is great, except I spent $ and 2 weeks to get a completely fine rifle checked out. I did learn what types of ammo to use and I've got about 1.3k rounds, so I'm now an educated Ruger Deerfield owner.

On a positive note, while it was with the expert I had him install an extended magazine/paddle release and picked up a super pricey, custom 10-round magazine thta his shop makes annually. 10+1 for a 44 mag!

I contemplate selling it because they just keep going up on GB.

One day, wife, kids (two boys) and I went out to the range to do a bit of practice for an upcoming Cowboy match. I assembled all the guns, holsters and stuff, loaded up the cars and headed off to the range.
Unloading the 'stuff' at the range, I realized I hadn't brought the ammo. Went home to get ammo. On way back to range, (as it turned out) the fuel pump died and the car wouldn't go, between here and there. Finally got to range (helpful stranger) and the day wasn't as bad as I thought it might be.

Did I mention I didn't handle frustration well in those day?

Just recently took my whole family to a County range, walked up to the ticket booth, same as always, and plunked down a $100 bill.

"Sorry, Sir. We don't accept cash anymore," said the menial functionary behind the plexiglass.

"It says right there, US Treasury note, legal tender for all debt public and private, son," I replied.

He shrugged. "Uhhh, Covid?"

"More like bull pucky," I said, putting away my money. :fire:

I ended up taking everyone to breakfast instead, and we actually had some good family time, so maybe it wasnt all that bad afterall.

My money spent just fine at Denny's.

I've had parts breakages and have left ranges due to unsafe shooters before, but the most agrivating time I've had at the range was sighting in a slug barrel for my Mossberg. Indoor 100yd range, stall next to me is firing a Barret 50cal with a muzzle brake. He touched one off and the concussion and blast sent my slugs scattering into the shooting lane. Have not been back to that range since. (There were other incidents there, that was just the straw that broke the camel's back)

I had so much problems with my Colt Defender with Colt factory mag. Nothing would work smoothly or reliably. UNTIL, I tried these Wilson 920 mags! These mag ate everything I thought at it (except oversize .452 coated). I bought 8 mags and called it a win.

You have to be kidding me. Just lie to me!

?

Dont believe in banks- haven't had a real account in 20 years. Why would I let them hold my money, use it for un-American, Leftist causes, and pay me basically no interest?

House and cars are old, paid for, and well maintained.

Haven't the foggiest what my credit rating is.

I do have a prepaid card I keep a few bucks on to make online purchases and the like, but oherwise I want nothing to do with the "money industry."

Now that I think about it, Ive had guns go kaboom, nearby ADs, and been swept by muzzles and still almost always had a good time, lol.

Definitely a bummer when your bud's not feelin good, though.
